Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the history of the formation of the methodology as a special field of humanitarian knowledge in the national school, which went along with the awareness of the need for regional national schools to teach in their native language. In a retrospective analysis of this article, the path traversed by the methodology of teaching Russian language and literature as a science, starting with the Russian Empire and ending with today's time, is shown. The authors summarized the experience of teaching Russian language and literature in the national school, outlined the formation of this area in science. The article analyzes
in detail the numerous methodological works of famous enlighteners, scholars, and methodologists of the past, who covered the problem of the specifics of the organization of the school system in non-Russian schools, expounded the methods and rules of teaching humanities in ethnic schools. Systematization of the history of the development of the methodology as a science showed that by the middle of the twentieth century the foundation had been laid for its further development.
