Abstract

The article illustrates the study of Kazakh-Turkish proverbs together with identification of their collection and publication at different stages. While comparing the proverbs in two languages their place and function in folk culture are described. Paying attention to the lexical and semantic nature of proverbs, the role of Kazakh-Turkish peoples' expression of culture, traditions and customs is analysed. The place and relationship of proverbs in the Kazakh and Turkish languages are underlined. The languages are classified and analyzed according to the meaning of proverbs in both languages. Comparing the proverbs, similarities and differences in the
culture and cognition of the two nations are discussed, and the factors influencing them are imparted as well. The study of proverbs by the method of comparative study determines their lexical and semantic nature. The results of the study have shown that the Kazakh and Turkish nations are of the same origin
