Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the works of the classic of Kazakh literature, poet Kassym Amanzholov, in the field of literary translation. The ideological and artistic features of his poems translated by the most prominent representatives of Russian literature — M.Yu. Lermontov, A.S. Pushkin, N.A. Nekrasov, V.V. Mayakovsky. K. Amanzholov’s translations are compared with several versions of Russian poets in Kazakh. A literary-theoretical analysis is carried out between the original and the translation. The structure of
the originals and the techniques used by the Kazakh poet in translation is shown. The preservation of the structure of the poems, the transmission of ideas in the translated works, the presentation of the style are considered. The differences between the experience of Abai in the translation of M. Lermontov’s poems and the translations of K. Amanzholov are investigated. Thus, the authors have attempted to define the role of K. Amanzholov in the formation and development of the tradition of literary translation in Kazakh literature.
