Abstract

This article is intended to show that T. Abdikuly in the story “Pedestal and Life” widely covers the circumstances that, through the events experienced by one person, were characteristic of most representatives of the general public of those troubled times. The purpose of the article is to conduct a comprehensive analysis and generalization of various complicated and tense circumstances filled with dramatism in the structure of the narrative. The research process involved analysis, theoretical exploration, and synthesis methods. As a result of the work, it was disassembled and comprehensively analyzed to what extent the author's concept, the main idea arising from the author's position, had collective and generalizing, as well as individual characteristics in creating the artistic image of the protagonist. Heightened dramatism in the life of the hero, deprivation by fate from the age of twelve, arrest and execution of his father on the false accusation of being an enemy of the people, the death of his sister due to grief, the life of the wife of an enemy of the people, namely the death of his mother, who served her sentence and went to freedom, but never saw her son — all this fully describes how many tragedies the totalitarian system has brought to the fate of mankind. From today's perspective, it has been studied that the various difficulties and struggles in the life of each hero reflect not only the individual's serious condition, but also the society's as a whole.
