Description of the vocabulary of the works of the writer K. Tokayev

Abstract

In the article the lexical layer and vocabulary of literary works of the detective genre was examined. The object of the study is the work of Kemel Tokayev, who wrote the first works of this genre in Kazakh literature, including the works “The Soldier Went to War”, “The Last Shot”, and “Shot at Night”. The purpose of the article is to describe the vocabulary in the Kazakh detective genre, including in the works of K. Tokaev, to identify the features of lexical layers. In this regard, the task was set to analyze active and passive vocabulary, borrowed words, obsolete words and others. In the works of K. Tokayev, a widespread use of military vocabulary is noted: these are military ranks, positions, weapons, objects, clothing, etc. Most of these words are taken from Russian. They are accepted unchanged or modified according to the phonetic and grammatical rules of the Kazakh language. A feature of the detective genre is the use of military vocabulary. They form the active vocabulary of the work. In addition, the language of the works significantly reflects religious vocabulary and cultural vocabulary. In works, it is natural that obsolete words are used less often than neologisms, since these works describe the period of the Soviet era, the time of war. And this is the time when most of the various military, administrative, law enforcement agencies of the Russian government, their orders and instructions were in Russian.
