Abstract

In Kazakh linguistics, the study and research of grammatical functions of unions originate from the work of R.Amirov, which later led to the defense of several dissertations. However, it is too early to say that the grammatical nature of conjunctions is fully defined and studied. For example, there are several problems with only “jáne”. This is facilitated, firstly, by the expansion of the grammatical function of “jáne” form over time, and, secondly, by the fact that the linguistic nature of conjunctions has not yet been studied. In the article, the grammatical feature of the form “jáne” is considered in comparison with the forms “taǵy” and “qaıta”. Because there is a possibility that these forms may be mutual quasi-synonyms. The reason is primarily related to the process of historical development. Therefore, there is a need for a special study of the transposition of the primitive “yana”, the modern “jáne”, depending on the stage of historical development. As a result, the grammatical function of “jáne” form is described from a completely new perspective according to a scientific requirement. In particular, during the etymological analysis of the form “jáne”, recognized until now as a conjunction, it has became known that it can function both as an adverb and as a particle. The criteria for determining the grammatical meaning are proposed. The secret of its characteristics, which up to this point were unexplained, has been revealed. A function not found in grammatical theories was also outlined. The conclusions of the article will become scientific material for undergraduates and doctoral students studying current problems of Turkology and Kazakh linguistics.
