A Comparative analysis of translation techniques in the translation of the work of M. Auezov «Fierce-Grey» (based on translations of S.O. Chorakayev and S. Geoghegan, S. Hollingsworth)

Abstract

In the article two translation versions of M. Auezov’s work done by S.O. Chorakayev and S. Geoghegan, S. Hollingsworth are considered. In order to examine the reasons of differences of translation, the authors of the article make a comparison in lexical, syntactical levels. Comparing two texts, the authors consider factors, which have influence on these translations. As well as these factors reflect in translation techniques chosen by translators. The research found that translation of S.O. Chorakayev has several mistakes, and also found that translation of S. Geoghegan, S. Hollingsworth conforms current rules and standards of English language.
