This monograph by Vera Kirkova explores the innovative and previously unexamined topic of royal nicknames as linguoculturems within the Ibero-Romance monarchical space. Focusing on Castilian and Portuguese rulers from the High and Late Middle Ages (the Reconquista to the Age of Discovery), the study examines how these historical epithets were formed, transferred, and preserved in collective memory. By combining theoretical frameworks with targeted philological analysis, Kirkova establishes a systematized cognomological model, successfully addressing the complex, multi-layered challenges of linguocultural science.
