The article considers metaphor as the main type of transmission of figurative meanings, as a nominative unit, which is the subject of research in linguistics and literary studies. The article analyzes the linguistic nature of the connotation, which performs a functional and pragmatic function in the formation of a metaphor, which is considered an emotional, expressive, stylistic shade of linguistic unity. The linguistic nature and additional connotation meanings resulting from understanding the associative-figurative internal structure of any conceptual meaning as part of linguistic units are determined. Based on the analysis of linguistic facts and examples, the authors prove that conceptualization creates a model of metaphorical linguistic units formed in the linguistic consciousness of a native speaker, the specifics of metaphorical motivation in a derived word, the meaning of their exchange differs by the presence of motivational degrees at different levels and is determined only in the word-formation structure. When considering the motivation of nominal units, along with their linguistic nature, the cognitive process of a native speaker is also taken into account. By metaphorical names, the authors mean that regardless of whether the semantics of the word is explicit or hidden, the worldview of a native speaker is observed, and the semantic potential of metaphorical motivation is clearly expressed in the newest expression. Metaphorical names in Kazakh word formation are recognized as unified lexical units, the article also highlights the main features that distinguish them from other similar linguistic phenomena. The article also examines the problem of classifying metaphorical names, while determining that all classifications are based on the transition from the real to the abstract, the transition from the real to the concrete, the connection with action, and anthropocentric positions. The authors of the article draw attention to the fact that the internal structure of the name is in close unity with the notion that the internal structure is
an integral linguistic phenomenon that supports the interrelation of the components of the name, and conclude that on the basis of the internal semantic structure, a metaphorical name is formed through motivation. As a result of the research, it is determined that one of the categories closely related to the nominative phenomenon is the internal form, when considered in the semantic aspect, the properties of the internal form are internally indistinguishable, together with others they are also integrated into the conceptual meaning. In the article, the internal form is analyzed along with the category of motivation. The authors of the article, based on
scientific material and linguistic data, conclude that it is important to study the definition of the semantic potential of a metaphorical name within the framework of the theory of motivation and nomination, and as a result of the research, the internal semantic form of the word is the main factor in creating a metaphorical name
