Abstract

Today, the study of the literary process of the twentieth century is actualized in different directions, in which the modern scientific community makes attempts to compile a general picture of the style of the epoch. The style variety of the authors certainly influences the implementation of the style of the epoch. This article focuses on the prose of the second half of the twentieth century, which combines the philosophical and aesthetic experience of the golden, silver centuries with the modern literary process. In this regard, the researcher proposes to pay attention to the poetics of magical realism. This term is considered as an artistic method, which was widely used in the works of various writers of the second half of the twentieth century. The author distinguishes the terminological use of «magical realism» in Western literature from the Russian. To define this term, various sources are used that affect the problem of magical realism in artistic literature only in part. The literary process of the second half of the twentieth century can not be separated from the historical background, especially if we are talking about Russian-language prose. Political, economic and social phenomena that shaped the cultural and literary atmosphere of the second half of the twentieth century, and reflected in the artistic space of the arts. The diversity of the style of literature cannot but rely on the complex of ideas of
its time, much less reflect this complex of ideas in the respective images of its time. The work is based on the fundamental works of F.I. Buslaev, A.N. Veselovsky and Yu.I. Mineralova.
