Abstract

This article examines the linguistic features that characterize the professional linguistic personality of IT specialists, which is the main goal of this article. The study aimed to identify features of IT specialists’ verbal communication using data from chats, social networks, and IT-related forums. The communication of IT specialists is characterized as informal, with extensive use of professional vocabulary (including anglicisms) and metaphors. The prevalence of borrowing terminology from the English language in the communication of IT specialists, in the form of transliteration into Russian, was revealed. The findings provide insight into the key linguistic traits that shape the professional identity of IT specialists. This research enhances the understanding of the linguistic culture within the IT sector and explores communication practices that could inform the development of effective training and professional strategies for IT professionals.
