Abstract

This article examines gender identity through the prism of the concepts of "man" and "woman" in their linguistic expression. Transformational changes in gender identity, demonstrating a modern understanding of the concepts of men and women, we can trace in the materials of social networks, since it has become possible for a person anywhere in the world to express their opinion through a monitor screen. The analysis of microblogs, posts and comments allowed us to come to the conclusion that such categories of concepts as age, moral qualities, appearance, career began to be viewed in a new way by representatives of both the female and male sex. For the purposes of career growth, the desire to reach great heights, new qualities of a successful person are put forward in the first place in society. Taking into account the digitalization of society, it has become possible to start a business for any person, regardless of his age, education, appearance. Current changes actualize the issue of gender identity and the need for further observation, research and comparison of linguistic and cultural changes taking place in society and human consciousness. The analysis of the linguistic concepts of masculinity and femininity made it possible to identify the features of gender representations of both sexes presented in the materials of the social network Twitter, as well as to identify modern features of gender identity. The main research method was the continuous sampling method. The scientific significance of the study lies in the study of the linguistic representation of gender relations between the sexes in different linguistic cultures. The practical significance of the work is aimed at identifying gender issues in society and ways of expressing them through microblogging. In the course of the study, it was noted that the gender identity of the new generation is quite dynamic, rapidly developing under the influence of the new challenges of the millennium and creates new conceptual cores of masculinity and femininity, endowing the personality with relevant features capable of competing in the intercultural space.
