The purpose of the article is to consider the issues of language development and use of the native language by representatives of Turkic-speaking nationalities in the social environment. In the course of the study, a sociolinguistic survey was conducted among the Turkic-speaking ethnic groups of Kazakhstan that are vulnerable and on the verge of extinction.  The results of the study are based on the age, gender and sphere of use of the native language, the level of preservation of traditions and customs.
