Abstract

This article reviews the scientific literature on the theory of precedence; different approaches to the interpretation of the term “precedent phenomenon” and its classifications are being outlined. On the material of the Kazakh language, the authors analyze such types of precedent phenomena as precedent names, precedent statements, precedent situation, and proverbs as precedent texts. In the course of the analysis of the language corpus, the characteristic features of precedent phenomena are being identified and formulated. The authors also clearly suggest the structure of a precedent name and substantiate the need to highlight one or another structural component. Along with this, the content potential of precedent phenomena is being determined, which indicates an assessment of the essence of a person, his actions and deeds as well as his attitude to the world around him. Consequently, the authors substantiate the fact that precedent phenomena act as means of forming a value model of the world.
