Abstract

The linguistic wealth of any nation is formed depending on the environmental conditions in which it lives, on the characteristics of its daily life and way of life. The Kazakhs created vocabulary related to the training of hunting birds of very early times. Such vocabulary is based on the names of birds of prey and their actions, they are also associated with the means and devices for taming them. These names in modern language are used both in direct and figurative meaning. The article gives the etymology of some words, names that have developed in our language regarding this craft of taming hunting birds. The authors of the article pay attention to the semantic and etymological features of each of these untranslatable names into other languages. They analyze examples from works of art, where their meanings, methods of formation and features of use in the language are explained. With the help of explanatory, etymological dictionaries and on the basis of the opinions of linguists, ethnographers give explanations of the expressed meanings of names related to the art of hunting with birds of prey. The authors prove that such words and expressions are formed by synthetic and analytical methods from words borrowed from Kazakh, Mongolian, Arabic languages.
