Reflection of reality in oral stories about the Great Patriotic War

The article discusses the characteristic features of oral storytelling as a popular way of transmitting information and knowledge. The further the events of the Great Patriotic War go away from us, the more the interest of scientists and researchers in the stories of its active participants and eyewitnesses increases. Oral histories of people as a method and source of research contribute to the further expansion and deepening of ideas formed over many decades about this cruel time, allow us to try to understand the feelings, emotions, thoughts of a person who finds himself in the most difficult conditions of military everyday life. The empirical basis of the scientific work was oral unpublished texts recorded during conversations with veterans. Relying on documentary sources, oral forms of memoirs of veterans, the authors strive to convey as truthfully as possible the authentic stories of GPW I participants about the war years. Real traditional stories are analyzed that will arouse the interest of the listener, reader, viewer. According to their artistic features, oral stories are biographical memoirs (memorials) of realistic content, sometimes with elements of fiction.
