The problems of translating Kazakh script into Latin script

Abstract

The projects of the new Kazakh alphabet based on Latin script, the effective aspects of practice and experience of transition to the new alphabet of the Turkic peoples on the basis of Latin are analyzed in the article. The drafts of the new Kazakh alphabet are proposed for discussion by scientists, linguists, journalists and the general public. The features of the use of some graphemes, which denote specific sounds of the Kazakh language, are described. The author suggests ways of solving difficulties in Kazakh orthography in connection with the transition to the Latin alphabet.
