Types of antonyms in the composition of phraseological units with antonymous components (on the materials of English and Kazakh)

Abstract

The article deals with phraseological units with antonymous components in two different-structured languages. The analysis of antonyms in phraseology is based on the classification of lexical antonyms. The research identifies the structural types of antonyms in phraseological units, as well as semantic types based on the category of opposition. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that for the first time the analysis of antonymous components in the phraseological units of the English and Kazakh languages was carried out. The study used the methods of component analysis and comparative analysis. As a result of the
study, it was found that antonyms in phraseological units in the English and Kazakh languages are characterized by all types of antonyms found in the vocabulary, as well as the functions of antonyms, in addition to performing the function of figurative opposition, consists in a constant comparison of objects of the surrounding world. Antonyms, being part of phraseological units, help to enhance their expressive meaning.
